Help – I’m Stressed – Will A Stress Ball Help?

Many people consider stress balls and shapes as a gimmick with no real usefulness to them, but this would be a wrong way of thinking. Just for a moment, clench and squeeze your hand and hold it for 3-5 seconds, then release. Do you feel some tension has gone? Now repeat that exercise, but while doing it, relax and take a deep breath. Now imagine holding a stress ball in your hand and doing the same thing. This is what they do. They give you a moment to step away from your stress and anxiety. Grab the ball for a few minutes, do some squeezes and deep breathing, and you will notice a difference. So there you have it – the answer is YES, stress balls work.

Nowadays, we seem to be in crazy times. Everyone is time stressed, and it never feels like there are enough hours in the day to do everything we need. Then there are the family pressures, work pressures, social pressures, and the list goes on. Depending on how you deal with all of this is very important for your mental health. If you feel overwhelmed with mental pressure and anxiety, this is not a healthy state. You need to take care of yourself to help reduce these stress levels.

There are many good self-help books, or perhaps it is worth talking to someone about it. Physical therapy such as massages can help relieve tension, along with a 10 to 15-minute meditation each day. All these things help. In regards to the humble stress ball, it is a great way for companies to promote themselves while giving something useful to recipients to help them calm down. Usually, the stress shapes will sit on a desk, giving your company brand exposure, while also giving the client an item they can use to bring down their stress levels.

Besides the humble stress ball, you may want to bring in some humour or get something directly related to your business. For example, perhaps you are in construction, so a stress-shaped brick or a forklift truck might be appropriate. There are also text affirmations that have proven very popular. Now, obviously, stress balls are not a replacement for therapy, nor are they a long term solution to stress or anger issues, but if they are in easy reach, they are a quick thing people can reach for a quick fix. This is especially true in the workplace, where we know this is one of the highest ranking areas to induce stress.
